Yamaha Motor India launched the most-anticipated 2022 MT 15 V2.0 at Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. The motorcycle comes with subtle cosmetic and mechanical changes. Besides this, the Japanese manufacturer has also introduced the R 15M World 60th Anniversary Edition at Rs 1.88 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Talking about the new Yamaha MT 15 V2.0 in detail, the bike gets the same engine as the outgoing model. Having said that, it is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit that churns out 18.3 bhp power at 10,000rpm and 14.1 Nm peak torque at 7500rpm. The motor is further mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Cosmetically, the bike gets a few changes in terms of upside-down front forks in gold finish with 37mm inner tubes and a “MotoGP-inspired” aluminium swingarm. Other feature highlights include a new fully digital, LCD display with Bluetooth 'Y-Connect' app. The street naked also gets two new color options namely Cyan Storm & Racing Blue beside the existing Ice Fluo-Vermillion and Metallic Black colours.
The YZF-R 15M World GP 60th Anniversary Edition commemorates Yamaha’s 60th anniversary in motorcycle road racing. The special edition features Yamaha’s iconic white and red ‘speed block’ colour scheme with gold alloys and front forks. Furthermore, the bike gets a special badge on the fuel tank and black levers. Performance-wise, it is similar to the standard R 15. Also, the R-15M WorldGP 60th Anniversary Edition is Rs 5000 costlier than the standard R 15M.
